S Series Under Tailgate Spreaders

All Swenson S-Series Spreaders are constructed with rigid 1/4” end plates continuously welded to a 7-gauge auger trough, easily removable anti-flow covers to prevent the free-flow of material from the discharge opening, and a one-piece 7-gauge hinged cover/back plate with a lift handle which may be raised when spreading or lowered when dumping. Unless otherwise specified, single spinner assemblies are standard on S-Series Spreaders. Includes hydraulic safety interlock system.

S Series Drive Options

Chain and Sprocket Drive:
Power is delivered from the motor sprocket to the auger sprocket by #60 roller chain. A chain guard is provided for the protection of the drive mechanism.

Direct Drive:
A high torque hydraulic motor couples directly to the auger for a lower-maintenance, high-performance drive system.

Gearbox Drive:
A heavy duty gearbox with a 5:1 reduction couples directly to the auger.

Chain and sprocket, direct, or gearbox drives are available on certain models of the S Series Spreaders. The 6” auger systems are constructed with 3/8” flighting welded to schedule 40 (ASTM) pipe, and are supported by 1 1/4” shaft ends and precision self-aligning single row radial bearings with grease fittings.

Hydraulic Safety Interlock

Polyurethane Spinner Disc:
Outlasts Steel, reduces coning and material caking, self-leveling and adjusts left or right.

Powder Coat:
Shot blasting of unit to remove all millscale and foreign material. Surface is chemically cleaned by high pressure spray system. Proper procedure for powder coat baking and curing is then followed. Standard powder coat is Omaha Orange.

SA Spreader, the Swenson standard, include an auger with continuous and reverse flighting which feeds material to a left discharge port for uniform dump body unloading.
